MeiXter is a 1 to 1 online learning platform, cross-subjects and cross-devices. Through MeiXter, anyone with a skill can share it and earn money and anyone looking to learn 1 to 1 and live, can find their dream teacher.

Additionally, all lessons taken within the platform trigger a donation to plant trees around the world.

Each MeiXter coin equals 1 USD. You can only make payments in USD in MeiXter, if a different currency is used, your payment method will do the FX conversion to USD.

Teachers are free to charge as much as they want and students to pay if the price suits them.

We charge a 9.99% commission to teachers after a lesson finishes.

We charge a 5% fee for our payment method when funds are withdrawn.

The cost of the membership is $19.90 per month or $9.90 if paid annually (50.25% discount)

You will only need a computer, smartphone or tablet with an internet connection. You may use a headset, microphone or any other device to aid you during your lesson. Our advice is you to have the best set up you possibly can.

 

Booking and purchasing lesson have a very similar flow to purchasing a single lesson.

  • When tapping on the ‘Coins’ icon, a modal (overlaying screen) will pop up where you will be able to choose the ‘Duration’ and ‘Quantity’ of your lessons.
  • Choose the duration you want each lesson to be (Note: when purchasing a package, all lessons will be the same duration).
  • Tap on Quantity and choose the amount of lessons you would like to purchase (Note: If your chosen teacher has chosen the option to give a 10% discount on lesson packages, this will be calculated automatically prior to completing the purchase).
  • Next, choose a date and time for your first lesson. This will take you to the ‘Order Summary’ where you will find the option to choose the date and time of your next lessons. To edit you can simply go back using the ‘Edit’ button at the bottom of your screen.
  • To finalise your lessons package purchase, make sure you have chosen all the dates and times for all of your lessons, then simply tap ‘Book and Pay’ and your order is complete.

Note: Lesson dates and times can be changed 24 hours prior to the selected slot. If cancellation is made with less than 24 hours’ notice, a cancellation fee will be charged.

To block or unblock a user, you must:

  • Go to your Profile (‘Me’ section).
  • Tap on your settings, at the top right.
  • Tap on ‘Report a Problem’.

  • However, if you want to deactivate or delete your account, you must:
  • Go to your Profile, ‘Me’
  • Tap on your settings, at the top of your screen.
  • Tap on ‘Manage Account’
  • Tap on ‘More options’
  • Tap on ‘Delete Account

A modal will pop up. Tap on ‘Yes, Delete now’, ONLY if you want to delete your account permanently. You won’t be able to recover your account or data at any time later. Once deleted, all progress and information will be permanently deleted from our servers.

MeiXter is not responsible for any interaction outside of our platform, making payments outside of the platform is a serious threat to the community, therefore, you must not accept any payment outside of MeiXter. Additionally, please raise a support ticket in the settings section for us to further investigate this user, we might respond requesting some more information in order to take action.

Your time zone is the same as your device’s. When you update your device’s time zone, MeiXter’s time zone will update automatically.

There is no need to worry. MeiXter calculates times for booking and taking lessons on your time zone automatically.

We do not have this feature available at the moment but are working to develop it for you.

Most likely this is because you need to update your payment method.

  • Go to your Profile, ‘Me’ section.
  • Tap on your settings, on top right.
  • Tap on ‘Payment Methods’. Check if your card details are correct, or ‘Add Credit/Debit Card’

The price of each lesson in MeiXter is determined by the teacher. 1 coin = 1USD. The average price is 30 coins, but you can find lessons for as little as 5 coins.

Please check if the payment method you used to purchase the coins has been charged. Normally, funds are charged instantly but there may be a delay. Please wait 30 minutes to check if your payment method has been charged, or for the coins to appear in your MeiXter account. If your payment method has been charged and you still do not see the coins in your MeiXter account, please contact us at contact@meixter.com and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

These are ratings students give to praise the teacher for their excellent teaching skills after a lesson ends. The 6 gems available are: Professionalism, Punctuality, Methodology, Charisma, Knowledge and Commitment.

Your gems will be fully coloured once your students rate you with a specific skill (i.e. Professionalism) at least 30 times.

To cancel your MeiXter Membership, follow these steps:

  • Go to your Profile, ‘Me’ section
  • Tap on your settings, , at the top of your screen
  • Tap on ‘Manage Account’
  • Tap on ‘More options’
  • Tap on ‘Cancel your Membership’
  • A modal will pop up. Tap on ‘Yes, Cancel now’.

When you cancel your Premium Membership, you will not be charged for the next membership period. Note: your verification tick will disappear along with all Premium Membership perks.

You may have requested the cancelation of your Premium Membership when the funds had already started being processed. The system will automatically return the funds within 7 working days to the payment method you used to purchase your Membership.

If the system does not automatically refund you in 7 working days, please raise a support ticket and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

As a premium user you may see that you have more coins compared to the money available to withdraw. This is because the coins that you have may have been purchased with a discount. You can use the discounted coins in the platform to purchase lessons but you may not withdraw them. You can only withdraw coins that have been earned through teaching or you purchased yourself  (not including those given with a discount).
